I am many things to many people.

Father

I love being a dad and my three daughters give incredible meaning to my life. It was the girls’ education, recreation and our family’s well-being that brought us to Berlin.

We knew that raising our family in this special small town would be an experience like no other. The slow pace of life through quaint neighborhoods, proximity to Assateague Island, and walkable downtown services were irresistible. I love that our family can bike to so many destinations! And the fast internet is a major plus.

The Boy Scouts taught me to be prepared. At the time I thought I was training for being lost in the woods without water or shelter. Little did I know, I was building endurance for being a dad. I can never fully anticipate what these leading ladies will throw at me, but I stay on my toes ready to catch!

We know that our daughters will have a priceless childhood experience by being able to grow up in this town and one of my goals is to be sure Berlin maintains this posture for future generations.

Husband

My wife works from our home here in Berlin. She’s a software developer for a company that handles first responders and police department software. And she owns and operates a fun little side business called “Bay Street Blooms” where she hand-raises some of the areas most beautiful flowers and sells them to locals for many wonderful events, and other gifts.

Unless I’m out on a scheduled photo shoot, I work from home alongside her. From our desks we get to enjoy the beauty and scent of her love of gardening.

I’m always amazed by our yard and happy to sing her praises to anyone who will listen. She’s from Chile and we pride ourselves in our bilingualism. I am always learning new words and phrases but I’m successful enough at translating for many lost English speakers whenever I can help.

I love that we are open to culture and share a fervor for adventurism and travel. My wife is my biggest supporter and without her, I couldn’t dream of serving our hometown in this capacity.

Creative/Entrepreneur

I am a self-employed photographer and corporate cinematographer.

In my career I have micro-owned a portion of a tech start up helping to grow that business from 0 to 100+ employees. Eventually that business was sold after successful rounds of investments.

Between then and now I’ve run two other successful small businesses.

Of my core strengths, I am very analytical and detail oriented. Contrast that with an innate ability to dream big dreams and a penchant for anything with a lens and shutter, or a computer screen and you get me, Tony. I am also an avid reader, I am currently reading “36 Revolutionary Figures of History”, and my latest list of titles includes: “How to Think Like a Roman Emperor”, “The Other Side of History: Daily Life in the Ancient World”, “Meditations : By Marcus Aurelius”,”The History of Ancient Egypt”,”The Righteous Mind”, “Breakfast with Buddha”, “Talking to Strangers”,”Walkable City”, “Blink”, “Outliers”, and “Black Rednecks and White Liberals” , “Hidden Brain”, to name a few! Please let me know if you have any in these genres (History, Politics, Language, Paleontology, Philosophy)!

The combination of my inherent strengths have complemented my career path because they help me see different perspectives and recognize that there are more sides than mine. I live knowing that I can learn from everyone I meet and I’m sincerely curious to know and serve Berlin.
